It is the mission of ATOM to enhance, support, and cooperate with other organizations that are involved in peace officer training. To that end however, we must maintain both our professional credibility and financial stability with reasonableness. With the development of the ATOM website and training calendar, it is imperative that we maintain our credibility within the Minnesota law enforcement community, as well as consider our own financial well-being. Thus the following criteria will be a guide as other agencies and organizations request use of the ATOM training calendar and website. For purposes of this policy, ATOM refers to those organizations that are co-managed by Creating Order Inc., to include SOTA.
Timing: If a course is being offered through a different organization and it is similar to an ATOM offering, the timing of the other course will be a consideration. If the time-frames are substantially different, a posting may be considered.
Geography / Regional Consideration: Even though a class may be similar to an ATOM offering, if the geographical location of a course is such that it makes it non-competitive, the course may be considered for posting.
Unique Class Offering: If a course offering is unique to ATOM and the State of Minnesota, a posting may be considered.
ATOM Membership – ATOM Relationships: It is preferred that any outside postings of other courses be submitted by ATOM members and/or organizations that have a positive relationship and are in good standing with ATOM.
Profit Vs. Non-Profit Organizations: At this juncture, course offerings will be considered for posting only if it is offered through a non-profit/governmental organization. It would be preferable if organizations that offer multiple classes consider a link, rather than use calendar space and association resources at ATOM’s expense. Courses of for-profit companies that are simply being offered through non-profit organizations, will be scrutinized with that in mind.
Links: Those law enforcement training organizations and/or associations that are governmental and/or non-profit in nature may be granted a link on the ATOM website. Compensation for this service will be determined by the board with input from the association business manager.
